SURPRISE!
Didn't expect there to be anything here again, eh?
Well, after keeping you all hanging out in suspense I have finally
gotten round to revealing my bits!
In my defence, I have to say it is all due to my selfless nature-
putting the fundraising and projects for the children, writing and
updating other parts of the website first (pure idleness is not
a comment I want to hear)! Also my excuse for the shortage of e-mails,
postcards etc. Sorry and please forgive me?
I can't believe how quickly it is all going now after
quite a slow first month or so. The kids had no school
therefore little to do during the day, we were finding our feet,
getting to know the children and planning
then waiting for response/results of prliminary enquiries, research
and meetings re our propsed projects.
Suddenly, it's all go! The main events of my pet "International
Sports Day" project have come and gone
(again a big THANKS to all involved) tho' I'm still loking forward
to the follow up presentation of the T-shirts to our kids here and
visits to the U.K schools on my return. The chicken project is also
progressing nicely and I'm distinctly aware of the lack of time
now for my latest assignments and ideas!
Life in the fast lane here in Kenya is still a far
cry from that in other parts of the world, however. So, we are hoping
also to fit in a couple of "our time" trips; back out
to the Ngong hills (site of our home page photo) this time to stay
a couple of nights with Masai friends and, in the opposite direction,
to a small National park/animal reserve also not too far away. Meanwhile
Saturday "movie nights" (and a couple of drinks of course!)
lives on due to the kind lending and transporting of DVD's by my
dear friends!
Well, I don't want to overwhelm you so I'll leave it
at that for now! Hope you have been enjoying the rest of the website-
many thanks for all the guest book messages and of course donations.
Love Ali x
